Open, welcoming and functional, the building is energy efficient. It is the first public building of its kind, to use a battery system that stores all the excess energy produced by the photovoltaic systems.

The biological structure of the building offers a space saving equivalent to 600-900 m2 of photovoltaic panelling, as the shell creates its own energy from the natural elements.

It is thermally insulated with 10 cm of stone wool insulation and designed to the highest specifications, taking into consideration the necessary perimeters as to ensure there is no energy loss.

One third of the cooling for the summer is due to the natural coolness of the nights in Nicosia, while 80% of the lighting comes from natural light.

Fresh air is fed into the building completely naturally, due to the thermodynamic movement of the outside air.
