Project description

The project involved the renovation, upgrade and maintenance of the historic bank building in the walled city of Nicosia.

At ground floor level, the improved space now offers a customer service area, as well as offices and archiving facilities.

The remaining space is used to house the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, with specialized areas such as the Numismatic Museum, Conservation Laboratory, rare collections room and more.

The restoration has remained true to the original style with investment in materials such as stone and marble especially for the stone amphitheater used for outdoor events. The interiors have been completely modernized, with new floors and ceilings, new divisions as well as an access lift and ramps to allow disabled access.

Increased fire safety measures have been implemented throughout the building to protect the specialized collections within. The project was successfully completed within the deadlines.
