One of the most innovative companies in the local Construction and Land Development sector with particular sensitivity towards matters of Corporate Social Responsibility, LOIS Builders has revealed that it continues to support young people and education through a series of exclusive scholarships. Despite the financial challenges the country is facing, LOIS Builders is once again rewarding top students of Private Universities with scholarships for the academic year 2015.
This marks a continuation of its long-standing tradition to embark upon charitable work and remain true to the values which has defined the company since its establishment in 1977. Some eight years ago, LOIS launched its first scholarship scheme. This year, through that same scheme, the firm will award a total of €3,000 in tuition funding to the best students of three private universities in the following fields:
• €1,000 scholarship to the best second year student in the Architecture Department at the University of Nicosia;
• €1,000 scholarship to the best second year student in the Civil Engineering Department at Frederick University;
• €1,000 scholarship to the best Masters student in the Business Administration Department (MBA) at European University.
As LOIS Builders wishes to offer a solid educational and employability foundation to students, it also gives them the opportunity to secure a summer internship at the company to the awarded students, with an aim to enhancing their practical knowledge and training.
LOIS Builders is among the leading companies in the Construction and Land Development sector of Cyprus. The vast experience and know-how accumulated in its 38-year history is reflected in every project it embarks upon.
The company’s portfolio consists of more than 200 construction projects throughout Cyprus, among which a variety of large-scale projects are included. These include the unique Tower 25 – a new benchmark in the centre of Nicosia designed by internationally renowned French architect Jean Nouvel, the modern and bioclimatic facilities at FORUM Private School, the Ministry of Finance and the Cypriot Olympic Committee. At the same time LOIS Builders has undertaken the construction of other important ongoing projects such as the Eleftheria Square designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the new Nicosia Town Hall and the new passenger terminal at Limassol port. In addition, the company has expanded its activities in the last four years outside Cyprus with notable projects in Saudi Arabia.
